The first rule when you own a rug, is to vacuum it twice a week. As you can see it, it is not complicated and it avoids the need for a major cleaning every 6 months.
I am the first to favor natural products for the maintenance of my home, so if you don’t have the money to take your rug to the dry cleaner, do it yourself with this useful tip: begin by realizing a potato peel concentrated infusion, then rub your rug with a sponge soaked with that infusion. Let the preparation to work for several hours, then rinse with clear water with a clean sponge. Last step: let it dry!
To revive the original colors of your rug and remove some stains, nothing simpler: with a sponge, apply sparkling water and rub gently. Let it dry for 30 minutes then sprinkle with baking soda all over the rug. Once the baking soda is dry, vacuum the carpet up and you’ll see, the result will be impressive.
Your carpet is dirty or stained with grease? Don’t panic, pour white vinegar on a clean cloth and rub the stain. Wait for 15 minutes. Then, apply a mix of water and dish soap, rub this mix on the carpet with a brush and rinse with clear water. Last step, wipe the rug with a clean cloth and let it dry.
